The Historic Handley Development Corporation’s Festival Committee is excited to announce that the 12^th Annual HandleyFest will be significantly expanded. With an expected attendance of more than 50,000 visitors, this year’s event is on track to be our biggest ever. One of the new additions to the event will be a Chili Appreciation Society International-sanctioned Chili Cook-Off. The Chili Cook-Off will be open to any individual or team wishing to compete and cooks do not need to be members of CASI to participate. The first 100 entries will vie for bragging rights and prizes. Prizes will include CASI Red Chili 1^st – 10^th place and Showmanship. Additional non-CASI competitions will offer additional prizes and categories include Novice, Traditional (Open), Juniors and a cornbread. There is a $25 fee to enter the CASI competition or the non-CASI category. Participants can enter both categories for a single fee of $35. Festival patrons will be able to purchase tasting kits for just $5 allowing them to sample chili entries. Volunteer judges are needed, so if you love Chili, we would love to add you to the team.

Another new addition will be the Texas Community Stage which will feature local up and coming performers. This stage will be a great venue to showcase talented singers, dancers, musicians, comedians and novelty performances by individuals and groups of all ages. The Fort Worth Police Department and HandleyFest have partnered to bring even more great resources to the patrons of the Festival. The Fort Police Department’s Annual Safety Fair will now be part of HAndleyFest. The Safety Fair will feature 70+ booths and interactive displays. As in past years, the Fort Worth Fire Department’s Station 24 will host Café 24 (pending confirmation) and kids of all ages will enjoy a CareFlight helicopter landing.
